Stila Eye-shadow 'GoLightly'

My most worn eye-shadow looks is a neutral eye-shadow, nothing too bold. This eye-shadow by Stila is a neutral brown with green undertones.  It is quite an investment at £12 but i had heard so much about Stila and am a sucker for beautiful things!
It applies really smoothly and you can easily blend it out. It lasts all day on my lids with literally no crease and it minimises the oiliness on my lids.
I must say it does look rather green here, it magnificently shows its green undertones though. I usually go for way more deep browns but this is definitely a nice change!
The colour pay off is simply amazing and it looks slightly golden in the picture below which is strange but it must be my camera!

Rimmel Proffesional Eyebrow Pencil

My first post of 2014, I wish everyone a happy New Year and hope your heads aren't feeling too bad from last night. I had a lovely night in with my friends, nothing too extravagant but it was a lot of fun. For the New Year celebration/party i really wanted to look my best so i thought the only thing that was missing in my make up stash was an Eyebrow pencil. Of-course i rushed out to get one on the way buying alot of make up which may have damged my bank...oops.
So i came across this one from Rimmel, as some of you may know Rimmel is a very trusted brand by me so i couldn't have been more pleased when they had one in my shade (001 Dark Brown). However i was estatic when i glanced at the price and it was £2.99.

Before we begin into the logistics of eyebrows and such, i just wanted to say my eyebrows have been such a problem for me. As my hair is classed as 'dirty blonde' but my eyebrows are a different story, they are verging on black? So don't be fooled these are my eyebrows.

It is a pencil and on the lid it has a little eyebrow brush which has come in useful for wrestling my eyebrows into the desired shape.

This pencil is easy gliding, without depositing too much colour. Fabulous for me as i didn't want my eyebrows to take over my face.
Even after copious amount of rubbing it held its place without a trace of smudging. It will wear away towards the end of the day though it will not vanish or melt away.

The eyebrow pencil is a good un' especially for those like me, never taken too much interest in the catipillars on my face.

Revlon ColourStay Foundation

This little product was from a recent Boots browse, you honestly must think i shop no where else... however i have ordered a couple things from Superdrug this week. Anyway i originally ordered the No7 Matte foundation but this came in the post, so i thought i would try it anyway.

I was pleasantly surprised, as with most (basically all) of the products i have reviewed on this blog has been mentioned by some other bloggers, where-as this has been mentioned by everyone. Even my friends, which is some sort of revelation as they never want to talk about make-up.

This is the Revlon Colour- Stay foundation in shade Buff 150, it is usually £12.49 from Boots. There are two versions of this, i have got the oilier skin type version.

To start with the packaging is OK, however i hate how there is no pump! I end up pouring out too much on to my hand (as i am awful with measurements) and wasting it!
The foundation itself is lovely, it is very smooth and looks flawless on the face. I have found the best way to apply it is with a brush (Real Techniques expert face brush).
Throughout the day it seems to wear very well, however if you do have one or two spots i recommend wearing a concealer as-well because they will start to show nearing the end of the day.
I do wear concealer under my eye as it will not cover those, however my under eye circles are very dark so i would not hold it against this foundation.
The oil control is better than most foundations, though i did need to apply powder to my face.
Overall this is a lovely foundation, it didn't break me out and makes me look lovely in pictures! What more can i ask for?
This is a definite recommendation from me!

Seventeen Phwoar Paint

Sorry my regular Wednesday post was not up this week, i was overwhelmed with work i had to get done. However i promise to post at least 2 posts a week.

In the 'beauty blogger world' this has been reviewed by a couple of bloggers, but not too many as it is still fairly new. It retails at £5.49 from Boots.
My under-eye's are very dark and have been on the hunt for a good concealer to cover them up without a problem. This concealer feels very thick and smooth to the touch. However when i apply it to my eyes without moisturising it clings to the dry patches and looks absolutely awful.
After applying moisturiser it did seem to work a great deal better, nonetheless it creased under my eye after a full day wear. It does last a full day with some creasing here and there.
The shade range of this product is 'ok', there are only 3 shades at the moment- fair, medium  and dark. Medium seemed way too dark for me so i purchased fair-- which is a little to light for me. I would definitely like a better shade range on this product.
I will continue to use this product as it is overall very good, i am still unsure whether i would repurchase it or not yet.

Maybelline Volum' Express Mascara

It is nearly the end of September, how fast has that gone? We are very close to the below zero winter, time to wrap up warm (a coat post soon!).
I realised i have not written an mascara post in the last couple of weeks and this has been my favourite mascara for the past month.
This is retailed at £9.00 from Boots, so it is not the cheapest but isn't too expensive. I didn't realise until i bought it but it is in shade brown, which actually i like a lot!
The brush is quite short and flexible, it is one size so the bristles are the same distance apart.
It doesn't form clumps, which i obviously a big plus for you mascara lovers and it makes my lashes huge. My eyelashes are quite long anyway, but this makes my eyelashes up to 3x longer.

As you can see below it doesn't look brown but it is a lovely lengthening mascara.
What is your favourite mascara at the moment?

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I don't own too many Pressed Powders even though i am quite oily, i know it doesn't make sense! Anyway i came across this and had never tried it!
It retails at £3.99 from most retailers, so definitely a low budget powder.
The packaging could be better, but seems pretty sturdy.
The shade i got was 004 Sandstorm and i have fairly light skin.
This powder is lovely, finely milled (annoying word- but necessary) and works! Once applied on the skin the powder is not visible at all! It is transparent so doesn't give coverage but it absorbs all the oil. Another  plus about not having coverage, is that it won't look cakey on the skin.
It claims up to 5 hours of oil control, and i agree! So this one is perfect for those of you who go to school or work for 5 hours. You will need to touch up if you are very oily though!
Overall i really like this product, and would recommend to anyone.

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation - Sample

Just before the summer holidays i went to the Benefit Counter to buy a few skincare bits, anyway i got talking to the Benefit lady about foundation and she ended up giving me this sample to try. It is a 3 ml sample, so can last quite a while.
I wanted to talk about this as it retails for around £20.00, which is a lot so my question was, is it worth it?

The shade i was given was 'i am so money- honey', and if i bought the foundation i would get the lighter shade.
A great thing about this foundation after wearing it for a couple of days, it did not break me out!
But i found it quite hard to blend, and it dried fast on your face.I definitely did not feel that it brightened my face up, just it covered up what it needed to.

This is definitely a medium-full coverage foundation.

For those with oily skin (like myself),  it is oil free but not matte!
Overall i probably at the moment would not buy this product at full price, but things could change!

What did you think about this foundation? Have you tried it?

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This has to be one of my all time favourite concealers and it has been raved about a lot in the beauty world!
You can purchase this from Boots here for £4.19.

This Concealer is liquid which i prefer for under my eyes, as it is not as dehydrating (i think so anyway :/).
Another point is that it does not make my blemishes/spots worse the day after i take it off.

When i have dark under eye circles (which are often) it really does conceal them and does not wear off, so makes me look like i have slept for 12 hours for 12 hours
!
Though I have found when i apply it under my eyes, after a long day it does tend to crease! You can apply a primer and this problem will go away.

It applies with a soft tip brush type thing, it is easy to apply (great for people in a rush).

Tip: After you have applied it DON'T rub as this smears it to other parts of your face, not the part you actually want to conceal. The best way which i have found is to dab lightly and it works a treat!

Batiste Dry Shampoo- My Saviour?

This summer I have really wanted to take care of my hair, as i used to wash it every day and it became dry and other horrible things. So since about 2 weeks ago i have been washing my hair every other day and i have seen a huge difference with my hair, but sometimes my hair get a little greasy at the roots so i have started to used Batiste Dry Shampoo.
I got the original- clean&classic version and it does a great job.

Good things -
If used correctly it instantly freshens up your hair when it is a bit dirty.
After use you cannot see or smell it on your hair.
It actually kind of works as a hairspray and adds volume to your style.
Bad things-
There is only one bad thing about this product and it is that you have to really vigorously shake the bottle before use other it leaves this horrible white residue on you hair which is really not a very good look.

Overall i have to say this is an amazing product and i really recommend it!

Love
Charlotte
