Meet Percy!

Today I have some extremely exciting news to share!!
Well for the past couple of weeks I have been preparing for a new arrival….a puppy (I have mentioned this on twitter- @SkinnyLipstick)!
With this post I officially welcome Percy into the blog-family. Percy is a pug, duhhhh as you can see.
Pugs are rather controversial (a bit like marmite!) you either love them or hate them. I am totally all for them, if I could I would be holding up banners stating my love.
For years I have imagined myself tottering round in glamourous heels with my pug in tow. Well that dream has certainly become a reality, however I wont be walking
Percy through muddy fields with heels on, don’t worry!
The picture above is myself with Percy (Top from forever 21)

Maybe there will be regular appearances of little Percy! Who knows…?

Do you have dogs? Do you want them?

Life Updates #1

I have decided to start a little series called life updates which may/ or may not be posted every sunday, as i feel like i need more about me on my little space!
With that exciting news, lets start this post off.
Firstly, i am moving house in 3 weeks, which is very very exciting. I feel like everybody i know is moving house as well, even on the youtube/blogosphere. Plan for moving are well ahead and we might have possibly sold our house as well, basically everything is happening at once!
As it is summer time and we all want luscious summer bodies, i will be doing more blogpost on healthy, easy summer snacks. So you can snack away at your desire and still fit into that tight fitting dress. To add to that i will be writing posts on fitness and health, without leaving behind the beauty posts as well.
If would be wonderful if you could bear with me, for these couple of weeks anyway!
xx

A change....

So.. I have changed my name! I am now the 'Skinny Lipstick'. I felt like this change was a long time coming, as i continually grew to hate my name 'Crushing On Pink', it had no true meaning to me.
Until i finally bit the bullet and changed to 'Skinny Lipstick'!
Also i have given my site a face lift and changed its design, so it truly reflects what is on this blog.
Starting from now, there will not only be beauty posts but there will be Lifestyle and Food posts being posted regularly. I really feel this has given me the motivation to really blog again and not just go through the motions.
Enjoy life you only have one.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Apologies for the complete lack of posts on my behalf, i have big exams coming up so my motivation for blogging has been the size of an ant! Exams are the worst.
Anyway lets move on to this foundation! This is the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation and retails for £8.99. It is a medium coverage foundation with a slightly pink undertone. You can tell you have foundation on which i thought was slightly disappointing, as it is 'nearly naked'.
Throughout the day it seems to wear well, however if you have oily skin like myself you will most definitely need to powder, at least a couple times.
Overall i think the Revlon Colourstay foundation is at the moment staying my firm favourite!
Have you tried this foundation?

Seventeen Phwoar Paint

Sorry my regular Wednesday post was not up this week, i was overwhelmed with work i had to get done. However i promise to post at least 2 posts a week.

In the 'beauty blogger world' this has been reviewed by a couple of bloggers, but not too many as it is still fairly new. It retails at £5.49 from Boots.
My under-eye's are very dark and have been on the hunt for a good concealer to cover them up without a problem. This concealer feels very thick and smooth to the touch. However when i apply it to my eyes without moisturising it clings to the dry patches and looks absolutely awful.
After applying moisturiser it did seem to work a great deal better, nonetheless it creased under my eye after a full day wear. It does last a full day with some creasing here and there.
The shade range of this product is 'ok', there are only 3 shades at the moment- fair, medium  and dark. Medium seemed way too dark for me so i purchased fair-- which is a little to light for me. I would definitely like a better shade range on this product.
I will continue to use this product as it is overall very good, i am still unsure whether i would repurchase it or not yet.

August Favourites!

This month has been a great month for me and it went by so quickly! We are getting close to winter/autumn time now, so i thought i would share my favourites this month. Alot of these have been reviewed so i will link them in this blog!

First is this Simple 'Kind to eyes' make up remover. I love this so much, it is very inexpensive and it gets the job done. I don't use this on the rest of my face, i don't recommend that either, but for just eyes it works wonders.

I love smelling nice but don't like to spend alot, so this Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray was the answer! I also have the Lemon&Lime and Mango&Papaya but this is my favourite. It is so sweet and it just makes you smell super yummy!
How could i not include the Baby Lips from Maybelline? In a nutshell they are cheap, moisturising and well pigmented. My review explains more -link-.

Another lip product i have mentioned before is the Max Factor Elixir Lipstick in English Rose. It is a beautiful colour and lasts all day! My review explains more-link-.
I have been wearing this nearly all month Liz Earle Sheer skin tint and it is such a lovely tinted moisturiser. On holiday or in the sun you don't want to put to much on your face just something light so this is perfect!
My review explains more-link-.

I bought this nail polish a couple weeks ago and been wearing it ever since (i am a sucker for pink!)! It is 025 Strawberry Fix by Rimmel, its last really well and has a nice consistency. I had not even realised this, but it has a scent which smell really fruity :).

Last but not least is this moisturiser from Garnier, it is the 7 day hydrate in Mango! All i can say is that it makes my legs feel AMAZING when i put it on, really soft! For me the flavour/smell doesn't do anything i feel that they are all the same?
What are your favourites this month?

Maybelline Baby Lips!

This product has been reviewed and raved about it the beauty community, so obviously i had to try it! It is £2.99 at Boots here, but i got this for 2.99 euros as i am on holiday. A great bargain for me!
The flavour/colour i bought was Pink Punch (as it was pink!), one great thing about this product is that it has a flavour so doesn't taste horrible in the mouth! The packaging is super cute (they have other colours as well) and it seems pretty durable.
On this lips is seems very creamy and moisturising while adding colour. When looking it the mirror it honestly looks like a lip gloss, but on the lips it is so soft and moisturising.
The colour is long lasting, i think you would only need to touch up once in a day.
I think the only let down for me is that when i think of 'Baby Lips' i think of a super light natural colour. I feel like i did not get it with this product as it is quite pigmented, but don't get me wrong i love it now, though initially i was disappointed.
This is a picture of it on my lips, bear in mind this is a very thin layer! You definitely can get a MUCH bolder colour than this.

A little Topshop Haul!

Is everyone enjoying the beautiful hot weather in England (if you live here of course)?
When i was walking around London today i felt like i was going to burn to a crisp, so didn't spend too long walking round. Also i only bought 2 items, both from Topshop! I know, i surprised myself.

They were both pretty day dresses, which i have been on the look out for ages.
The first dress i bought was a light pink lacy dress, £32.

The second dress i bought was quite a plain dress i suppose, but lovely! This was £20. I have to say i do not have 'huge' boobs but if you (warning) it can make you look a bit busty!

Watch out for an eye-liner review soon!
