Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I don't own too many Pressed Powders even though i am quite oily, i know it doesn't make sense! Anyway i came across this and had never tried it!
It retails at £3.99 from most retailers, so definitely a low budget powder.
The packaging could be better, but seems pretty sturdy.
The shade i got was 004 Sandstorm and i have fairly light skin.
This powder is lovely, finely milled (annoying word- but necessary) and works! Once applied on the skin the powder is not visible at all! It is transparent so doesn't give coverage but it absorbs all the oil. Another  plus about not having coverage, is that it won't look cakey on the skin.
It claims up to 5 hours of oil control, and i agree! So this one is perfect for those of you who go to school or work for 5 hours. You will need to touch up if you are very oily though!
Overall i really like this product, and would recommend to anyone.

August Favourites!

This month has been a great month for me and it went by so quickly! We are getting close to winter/autumn time now, so i thought i would share my favourites this month. Alot of these have been reviewed so i will link them in this blog!

First is this Simple 'Kind to eyes' make up remover. I love this so much, it is very inexpensive and it gets the job done. I don't use this on the rest of my face, i don't recommend that either, but for just eyes it works wonders.

I love smelling nice but don't like to spend alot, so this Natural Collection Vanilla Body Spray was the answer! I also have the Lemon&Lime and Mango&Papaya but this is my favourite. It is so sweet and it just makes you smell super yummy!
How could i not include the Baby Lips from Maybelline? In a nutshell they are cheap, moisturising and well pigmented. My review explains more -link-.

Another lip product i have mentioned before is the Max Factor Elixir Lipstick in English Rose. It is a beautiful colour and lasts all day! My review explains more-link-.
I have been wearing this nearly all month Liz Earle Sheer skin tint and it is such a lovely tinted moisturiser. On holiday or in the sun you don't want to put to much on your face just something light so this is perfect!
My review explains more-link-.

I bought this nail polish a couple weeks ago and been wearing it ever since (i am a sucker for pink!)! It is 025 Strawberry Fix by Rimmel, its last really well and has a nice consistency. I had not even realised this, but it has a scent which smell really fruity :).

Last but not least is this moisturiser from Garnier, it is the 7 day hydrate in Mango! All i can say is that it makes my legs feel AMAZING when i put it on, really soft! For me the flavour/smell doesn't do anything i feel that they are all the same?
What are your favourites this month?

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer Phenomenon 100

The Rimmel Apocalips Lips Lacquer has been reviewed by bloggers and talked about so much so i thought i would get it, also as i have mentioned i have had a bit of a lip gloss/stick/stain/lacquer urge.
It is £6.49 at Boots -link-.
The  packaging of this product is beautiful, it has to be one of my favourite all time packaging! I like how you can see the colour at the bottom, just overall pretty.
It has a doe foot applicator, like most lip glosses, which is bendy and glides on the lips nicely.

One thing i hate about the product is the taste and the smell when you first apply it, it is awful! After a while it goes but not very nice to begin with!

On the plus side it is very pigmented and is not sticky! You would need to re-apply during the day for that glossy look.
Overall a great product apart from the taste/smell!
What do you think of the Rimmel Apocalips Lips?

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation - Sample

Just before the summer holidays i went to the Benefit Counter to buy a few skincare bits, anyway i got talking to the Benefit lady about foundation and she ended up giving me this sample to try. It is a 3 ml sample, so can last quite a while.
I wanted to talk about this as it retails for around £20.00, which is a lot so my question was, is it worth it?

The shade i was given was 'i am so money- honey', and if i bought the foundation i would get the lighter shade.
A great thing about this foundation after wearing it for a couple of days, it did not break me out!
But i found it quite hard to blend, and it dried fast on your face.I definitely did not feel that it brightened my face up, just it covered up what it needed to.

This is definitely a medium-full coverage foundation.

For those with oily skin (like myself),  it is oil free but not matte!
Overall i probably at the moment would not buy this product at full price, but things could change!

What did you think about this foundation? Have you tried it?

Back to School Make Up Basics

Depending where you live you may be at School already or going to start soon. I am going back in September so i thought i would do a 'Back to Basics' Make-up for school. Some of you may be you teens just starting out or you just love reading posts like this- which ever i hope this helps.

Also there are alot of video/posts out there which don't offer the right price range, young teens generally cannot spend tons (eg £36.00 on a foundation is NOT happening), so i have put some very cheap products here for you!

For foundation i have 2 which are absolutely amazing the Rimmel Wake Me Up  foundation, this retails for around £8 at Boots. I love this as it is medium coverage (great for spots) and give a light shine which makes you look fresh and awake. I also have the Benefit Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation which retails around £20, i have put this in here as i think this is not too expensive if it works.

If you have oily skin, a powder is a necessity. So i have this MUA pressed powder for £1, great value and stops you looking shiny. If you don't need powder, don't buy it but it is a nice touch as well.

I have 2 concealers here, Rimmel Hide The Blemish concealer and Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. One is a doe foot applicator and the other is a stick, so which ever you think works best for you you can decide. The give the same coverage and both retail around £4-£5.

For blush i really like Natural Collection Peach Melba (£1.99 at boots), it gives a lovely bit of colour without being too over the top for school.

For bronzer i like this duo from Miss Sporty Ohh So Tan! It has a highlighter and a bronzer which have both good pay offs. It is  £2.99 at boots.

If you do want to wear eye shadow i recommend this MUA Heaven & Earth Palette, it has such lovely colours for a subtle eye.

I have 2 Collection mascaras Collection pump up the volume (£3.99) and Collection Super Size (£2.19), these are both great mascara's and do their job. I recommend collection if you are just starting out with Make Up.
For lips i have Maybelline Baby Lips, Clinique Chubby stick in Mega Melon and a Flormor Lipstick in shade 202. These are all slightly different colours for different skin types but natural.

That is it for my 'Back to Basics' School version! Comment below about anything you love!

Maybelline Baby Lips!

This product has been reviewed and raved about it the beauty community, so obviously i had to try it! It is £2.99 at Boots here, but i got this for 2.99 euros as i am on holiday. A great bargain for me!
The flavour/colour i bought was Pink Punch (as it was pink!), one great thing about this product is that it has a flavour so doesn't taste horrible in the mouth! The packaging is super cute (they have other colours as well) and it seems pretty durable.
On this lips is seems very creamy and moisturising while adding colour. When looking it the mirror it honestly looks like a lip gloss, but on the lips it is so soft and moisturising.
The colour is long lasting, i think you would only need to touch up once in a day.
I think the only let down for me is that when i think of 'Baby Lips' i think of a super light natural colour. I feel like i did not get it with this product as it is quite pigmented, but don't get me wrong i love it now, though initially i was disappointed.
This is a picture of it on my lips, bear in mind this is a very thin layer! You definitely can get a MUCH bolder colour than this.

High Beam By Benefit

This Highlighter was highly recommended to me by friends and family. This is £19.50 at Benefit, so a bit pricey but i used my boots points on it which is great as i paid nothing!
This highlighter is gorgeous, when you apply it to your cheekbone you don't look like a slimy mess and it looks beautiful. With this highlighter a little goes a long way in my opinion so this will last you a very long time.
It is smooth, no chunky glittery bits, and blends well. It does give a shimmer, but not an in your face shimmer!

The applicator is a brush which works well as you can literally dot it over your cheeks. One thing i have found that with a brush applicator it can get a tad messy!

Sorry i couldn't swatch it, it is super hard to swatch a product like this!

Suncream!

When i think of sun-cream i think beach, holiday's and sun! Also when your on holiday or its hot you need suncream, it is basically an essential. So i am going to share with you all the suncreams i have been using this holiday and that worked!
All the sun creams i have been using.
Lets start with my face, i have been using this Clarins Sun Control Stick SPF 30, i have loved this. This is very easy application for my 'prone to burn areas'. I have been using this a lot when i have been sailing so it great for being out at sea! It is £16.00 and you can buy it from here.

Also on my face i have been using Dermologica Oil free matte face suncream. It is a great suncream and doesn't break me out at all, a very big plus! This is around the £35 mark and you can get it from here.
On of my friend actually gave it to me as a recommendation, it is a good suncream but i would not purchase this as it is too expensive and there are cheaper alternatives.
For my lips i have been using this Nivea SPF 30 lip balm and i love it! It is very moisturising and leaves my lips feeling very smooth and soft, what a lip balm should do. This is £3.29 and you can buy it here!
For my hair and scalp i have been using this Sole Mare thing?! I actually don't really know much about it as the lady at the counter said it would stop you from burning. What i have to say about this is that it makes your hair look a bit oily.

For my body i have been using the Nivea Invisible Protect SPF 30 as it so easy to apply and NOT sticky. I absolutely hate the cream suncreams that leave a sticky residue behind and this doesn't! This is £11 and you can buy it here. Basically i love most of Nivea's product!
Finally is this Jason brand of sun cream, this was new to me as i had found it in WholeFoods and the lady was so in love with the product she sold it to me. Basically this is as natural as you can get with suncream and i LOVE it! This is normally £11.00 buy you can get it for £6.00 Here!!

So those are all the suncream i have been using! Comment below if you have any recommendations for me!

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick- English Rose

This has to be one of my all time favourite lipsticks! It is a beautiful bright colour and from one of my favourite brands. I have never actually been a 'lip person' but suddenly i have had this urge to buy lipsticks, when i saw this one in the airport i knew i had to have it.
I bought this product  for £7.99 and you can buy it here from boots.

First thing about this product is that it has very pretty packaging, very sleek and looks expensive.

This is what Max Factor says: Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick with Max factor’s breakthrough Elixir Moisturising Complex that give visibly moisturised lips and gorgeous looking colour.
I have to say i really agree with what they are saying, it moisturises and glides on my lips perfectly. Its pigmented very well and last all day
The colour i have chosen is a darker shade of pink, all the colours have a slight shimmer and shine to them as well.

Overall i would definitely recommend this product and will be purchasing more colours in the future.
Ps. I hope you like the different backgrounds in my pictures, as i said i am on holiday.
